Monterey Plaza Hotel & Spa Offers Land & Sea Family Adventure Package
The Land & Sea Adventure Package is ideal for a family of four, and includes a well-appointed guest room as well as your selection of two day passes for the Monterey Bay Aquarium, whale watching, all day kayak or bike rentals.
The Monterey Bay Aquarium sits on the Monterey Bay National Marine Sanctuary and is one of the largest aquariums in the country. It is currently hosting an exhibit entitled "The Secret Lives of Seahorses", which features one of the largest seahorse exhibits in the United States. It also is the new home of an eleven pound lobster estimated to be 50 years old.
Princess Monterey Whale Watching is located on Fisherman's Wharf, a short walk from Cannery Row, and takes eager sea-goers on 2½ to 3 hours trips where they have a unique opportunity to see the diverse wildlife of the Monterey Bay. Currently, humpback whales are in migration and being frequently sited.
Adventures by the Sea offers bike rentals for those looking to explore the coast. Monterey's recreation trail follows the shoreline just off Cannery Row and stretches from the Aquarium to Lover's Point, and then begins again along the coastline in neighboring Pacific Grove and continues to the famous 17-Mile Drive.
Adventures by the Sea also offers kayak rental for those looking to explore the bay. Kayakers commonly see seals and otters up close, as well as the other animals that call the National Marine Sanctuary home. Visitors can chose to go solo in single boats or team up and explore in tandem boats. Splash padding suits or wetsuits, paddling instruction and wildlife orientation are included.
