Dave Stoldt, Monterey Peninsula Water Management District General Manager, Will Speak at Forest Hill in Pacific Grove About Water in Our Region

Forest Hill is hosting a speaker series and has invited Dave Stoldt, General Manager of the Monterey Peninsula Water Management District, to speak on Wednesday, April 24 at 3:30pm. Stoldt will talk about water issues in our region and the process the District is going through to study the feasibility of public ownership of the water system. This event is FREE and open to residents and the public. RSVP is required, as space is limited.
Stoldt joined the Monterey Peninsula Water Management District as General Manager in 2011. He has over 30 years of experience in the public infrastructure sector, including investment banking and consulting to public agencies. Mr. Stoldt has also served in various positions in the public sector, both appointed and elected, leading to an understanding of how to achieve results amidst the delicate balance of public and political interests.
Stoldt has an MBA and Certificate in Public Management from Stanford, an MS in Energy and Resources from UC Berkeley, and a BS in Civil and Environmental Engineering from University of Illinois. He was the 2014 California Special Districts Association General Manager of the Year, the 2016 Pacific Grove Chamber of Commerce Public Official of the Year, and the 2016 Monterey Peninsula Chamber of Commerce Public Official of the Year. Mr. Stoldt is also on the advisory panel of Stanford's Water in the West program.
The Monterey Peninsula Water Management District was formed in 1978 and serves approximately 112,000 people within the cities of Carmel-by-the-Sea, Del Rey Oaks, Monterey, Pacific Grove, Seaside, Sand City, Monterey Peninsula Airport District and portions of unincorporated Monterey County including Pebble Beach, Carmel Highlands and Carmel Valley. The District's main goals are to increase the water supply to meet community and environmental needs, assist California American Water in developing a legal water supply, protect the quality of surface and groundwater resources, continue the restoration of the Carmel River environment, and promote water conservation.
