Chaminade Resort & Spa Gives Thanks to Santa Cruz Firefighters with a Thanksgiving Meal
Men and women of Thurber Lane firehouse will receive a turkey dinner with all the trimmings!
SANTA CRUZ, CALIF.– Maybe the firefighters at the Thurber Lane firehouse will not be at home with their families this Thanksgiving, but at least their bellies will be full. For the third year in a row, the staff at Chaminade Resort & Spa will bring a festive Thanksgiving feast to the firefighters of the Thurber Lane Firehouse in Santa Cruz, complete with all the trimmings.
"This is our way of recognizing the importance of what these men and women do on a daily basis. The sacrifices they make and their dedication to the community is deserving of, at very least, a hearty meal on Thanksgiving," said Norbert Relecker, General Manager of Chaminade.
Chaminade's culinary staff prepares the turkey dinner, and Food and Beverages Manager Sean Woodruff, Property Operations Manager Mike Lachica, and Relecker deliver the meal to the firehouse on Thanksgiving. Relecker adopted the Firefighter Thanksgiving Dinner program from a similar one he started at the Park Hyatt in Carmel for six years. Chaminade also prepares meals for firefighters on 9/11 and Christmas.
