Carmel Valley Ranch Unveils Newly Redesigned Golf Clubhouse and Restaurant
CARMEL, Calif. - March 19, 2007 - Carmel Valley Ranch (www.CarmelValleyRanch.com) has opened the doors on a newly remodeled and redesigned golf clubhouse and restaurant. The debut of the transformed space marks the completion of the first step in the resort's comprehensive revitalization program which will touch every aspect of the 400-acre property. In May 2007, the resort will reopen its completely restored golf course, ushering in a new quality of play. Later this year, Carmel Valley Ranch will begin a floor-to-ceiling renovation of all guest suites, as well as revive common areas, meeting space and exteriors. The revitalization is due to be complete by early 2008.
Conceived by designer Ina Johnson, the remodeled golf clubhouse offers a modernized complement to the property's pastoral setting with chic yet comfortable lounge spaces, updated locker rooms and a new dedicated member's lounge. Located within the facilities, the transformed Clubhouse Restaurant offers both a fresh atmosphere and distinctive new menu options that combine regional ingredients and casual club favorites.
"The clubhouse's new ambiance embodies the unique blend of natural elements with modern sophistication that we will continue to incorporate throughout the resort's revitalization to create a one-of-a-kind luxury resort experience," said Joseph Violi, general manager of Carmel Valley Ranch. "This refined space and refocused culinary effort truly preview the Carmel Valley Ranch to come."
The clubhouse's redesigned lobby and bar areas keep elements of the ranch theme, using contemporary materials, textiles and furniture that are both unexpected and comfortable. The space is filled with natural accents such as leather upholstery, face-cut wood and warm cast-metals, enhanced by a palette of greens and blues that echo the picturesque fairway vistas seen through floor-to-ceiling windows. Custom-designed Italian furniture arranged in cozy groupings invite pre- and post-game gatherings or social occasions. Strategically-placed plasma screen televisions complete the experience. In addition, both men's and women's locker rooms have been updated with new fixtures, refreshed wall surfaces and new tiling.
Helmed by the resort's acclaimed Director of Culinary Operations, Chef Anthony Keene, the Clubhouse Restaurant serves innovative cuisine made from the freshest local and organic ingredients. Breakfasts include omelets with farm-fresh vegetables, cereals with seasonal fruits and fluffy pancakes, waffles and pastries. Lunch at the Clubhouse Restaurant focuses on lighter entrées such as Baked Salmon with Arugula, Thai Calamari Salad, and Yogurt Marinated Chicken with Green Papaya; and traditional favorites like the Reuben Sandwich on Rye and a juicy Cheeseburger, along with a signature Clubhouse Steak BLT and Fried Egg on toasted Ciabatta Bread.
For dinner, Chef Keene has created a menu bursting with local color and flavor, sure the sate the most demanding palate. Starters such as Dungeness Crabcake; Caramelized Sea Scallops with Foie Gras and Potato Gnocci whet the appetite. Main course options include Osso Buco Braised Veal Shank, Wild Striped Bass with Lemon Risotto, and a selection of items "from the grill" such as U.S.D.A. Prime New York Steak and Wild Salmon. The menu is complimented by daily specials that change seasonally.
