Symposium spotlighting Monterey Institute to precede Spring Commencement and presidential inauguration

MONTEREY, Calif. - May 11, 2009 - The Monterey Institute of International Studies will hold an inaugural symposium on Friday, May 15 that highlights the accomplishments of Institute students and demonstrates the application of their knowledge to make a meaningful difference in the world. The event will feature keynote speaker and Institute President Sunder Ramaswamy, followed by three sessions spotlighting initiatives with both local and global focus, led by faculty and students. Stations outside the main meeting room will also highlight a number of programs and hands-on projects that Institute students continue to participate in as part of their experiential, immersive learning approach.
