CASTROVILLE, Calif. - June 17, 2008 - Ausonio Inc. was recently recognized for its outstanding safety record and excellent safe practices and training. The Associated General Contractors California awarded Ausonio Inc. as one of two finalists in the State of California qualifying for the Safety Award of Excellence in the Builders Division of 200,000 to 500,000 hours due to the company's exemplary construction safety for 2007. General Superintendent of Ausonio Inc., Brent Wilcox, received the award at the annual award ceremony in Costa Mesa, California June 10, 2008.

"This award not only reflects years of a safety-oriented culture at Ausonio, but it also shows our commitment to improve our practices," says Ausonio Inc. Safety Officer, Joe Piedimonte. "Our foremen receive OSHA 10 training and use weekly job site safety meetings to reinforce awareness of relevant risks. We also work closely with our liability carrier's risk engineers at Zurich Insurance."

Ausonio Inc. has implemented safe practices in its local construction projects, including the Seaside City Center, Salinas YMCA and Casa Verde. Each construction job closely follows the company's mandatory high-level safety practices. For example, when approval was given to proceed on the Seaside City Center, Ausonio Inc. immediately installed temporary construction fencing around the entire site in order to keep the public safe and to help keep the jobsite secure. The same was also true for the Salinas YMCA.

Safe construction practices at Ausonio Inc. include a number of regular activities for each site. Ladders, tools and cords are inspected weekly, and superintendents conduct special area inspections prior to any new job activity. Regular jobsite checks remove tripping hazards, nails and debris that may cause injuries, and workers make use of supplied hard hats, hearing and eye protection. In addition, superintendents conduct weekly safety meetings at jobsites covering a variety of topics, including back injury prevention, personal protective gear, electrical hazards, use of ladders and power tools, fire and explosion prevention, stress related health problems and vehicle safety. Ausonio makes safety its highest priority in moving projects forward.
