American Tin Cannery Hosts Community Awareness Day February 9th

Area Residents are Invited to Learn about Programs and Services on the Monterey Peninsula

MONTEREY, Calif. - January 29, 2008 - Monterey Peninsula residents are invited to attend Community Awareness Day on Saturday, February 9, from 10:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m. at the American Tin Cannery, located on Cannery Row. Hosted by the merchants of the American Tin Cannery, community members are encouraged to attend this free event to learn about a variety of programs that are available in the community.

This informative and exciting event will bring more than 15 of the area's community organizations together to inform residents about the services they offer. "We welcome families and members of our community to visit us for a day of education and entertainment," says event organizer Janine Moore of Monterey Bay Espresso. "This event provides a wonderful opportunity for residents on the Peninsula to learn about the variety of resources and services available to them in our community."

The organizations participating in Community Awareness Day at the American Tin Cannery include: Pacific Grove Parks and Recreation, Meals on Wheels, Senior Citizen Club, Humane Society/SPCA, Boys and Girls Club, YMCA, Pacific Grove Library, Lyceum of Monterey, Salvation Army, 4-H, Monterey Sanctuary, American Red Cross, Pacific Grove Police Department, American Cancer Society and Women's Shelter of Monterey.

Community Awareness Day will take place at the American Tin Cannery, and is free to attend. The American Tin Cannery is located at 125 Ocean View Boulevard, across from the sea in Pacific Grove.
