Carmel, CA - October 24, 2008 - The Rancho Cañada Golf Club is sponsoring the Alan Bown Memorial Golf Tournament in memory of beloved bartender, Alan Bown, to benefit the Bown family in their time of need and their children's future education.

Alan Bown began working at Rancho Cañada six years ago, and shortly thereafter began playing golf. He frequently played with the Club's regulars and became a friend employees and visitors alike. Alan leaves behind a wife and two children, ages 9 and 16. The tournament is fully funded by two close friends so that all proceeds go directly to the family.

Tickets are $125 per person and include the green fee and cart, team and individual awards, a raffle ticket and a hosted gala reception following the event. There is also the opportunity to sponsor a tournament hole for $100, which includes hole signage and mention at the Hosted Gala Reception.

The tournament will begin with a shotgun start at 8:30am on November 9th, 2008 and will conclude with the Gala Reception beginning at 1:30. Call the Rancho Cañada Golf Club at (831) 622-2444 for further tournament information. All golf reservations must be submitted by November 2, 2008.
