MONTEREY, Calif. - November 9, 2007 - Did you know that the most recognizable building on Cannery Row, the famously red Monterey Canning Company, is now home to local independent artists? Get to know the artists of 711 Cannery Row, Saturday, November 17, during an evening of open art studios. View original works of art while enjoying wine from Bargetto and Silver Mountain wineries.

WHO: 711 Cannery Row - A group of independent artists in the old Monterey Canning Company warehouse.

WHAT: "Taste the Art, View the Wine" - Taste wine from Bargetto and Silver Mountain wineries while exploring open art studios at 711 Cannery Row. Enjoy exclusive views of new works and works-in-progress by nine local artists. Ten percent of all proceeds from a silent art auction will be donated to the Monterey Youth Arts Collective.

WHERE: 711 Cannery Row, at the end of Prescott Avenue
The artist studios are located on the second floor.

5:00-8:00 PM


An afternoon of open studios will also be held Sunday, November 18, from 1:00-4:00 PM.
