Hometown Heroes ceremony honors local veterans in Gonzales
Gonzales hosted a "Hometown Heroes Ceremony" this morning to honor 27 local veterans and active duty service members with signs displaying their names and branches.
The event, presented by the American Legion and the City of Gonzales, drew a significant crowd, highlighting the community's appreciation for those who have served.
"As you can see by the attendance today, I think it's very meaningful. I think it draws us a little closer together. This is a brotherhood that I think we should all embrace, and I'm just glad to be a part of it today to be able to honor those that helped ensure our freedom," said Gonzales City Councilmember Liz Silva.
The ceremony aimed to recognize and celebrate the contributions of these individuals.
