California Coastal Commission begins public hearings in Gonzales

The California Coastal Commission began three days of public hearings in Gonzales on Wednesday to explore issues important to South Monterey County residents.

The meetings, typically held in coastal communities, are taking place at the community center in Gonzales. The commission is focusing on inland concerns such as water, infrastructure, and agriculture.

 
Lopez, who also represents South Monterey County for the Monterey County Board of Supervisors, is one of the newest members of the commission. The hearings will continue today and Friday.
