Tiny Patients Get Big Care
This story focused on the successful Natividad Medical Center's neonatal intensive-care unit. In 2006 the Natividad Medical Center earned its provisional Level III status, which allows doctors to work with smaller and sicker infants. The infant intensive-care unit flourishes today, as the center was able to weather the challenges of the hospital turn around and continues to provide care for these tiny patients. The center is run under the guidance of supervisor Joan Linneman as the doctors work around-the-clock to care for the premature and very sick infants.
