APR approached Dennis Taylor at the Monterey County Herald with a fascinating story about an amazing man who suffered a cerebral hemorrhage at the age of 38 and despite the prognosis by doctors that he would not survive, survived. Dick Burns was inspired to spread his message of hope and recovery by authoring the book Live or Die: A Stroke of Good Luck. The article gives a glimpse of Dick's life just before and soon after his stroke and shares memories from his children on the long process of recovery. Dick shares his purpose for writing the book as he hopes to inspire others through the recovery process.
