Mission San Antonio de Padua Hosts Annual Cutting of the Roses Parish Dinner

Annual fundraiser features the Ciaramella Ensemble, world famous for its authentic Medieval and Renaissance music

KING CITY, CALIF. – Mission San Antonio de Padua is hosting its Annual Cutting of the Roses Parish Dinner on January 29, 2011 at Mission San Antonio de Padua in Jolon. The Mission community is proud to be offering an added attraction to this annual fundraiser, a special performance by the world-famous Ciaramella Ensemble, a group that performs authentic Medieval and early Renaissance music.

The day begins at 9 a.m. with Catholic Mass; followed by the Ciaramella musical performance at 10:15 a.m. Tickets to the performance are $20.

After the show, the Annual Cutting of the Roses in the Padre's Garden allows visitors to receive rose cuttings from the mission’s beautiful rose plants for a nominal donation – Bring home a living memory of the peaceful mission. Young visitors will enjoy crafts and face-painting and all with delight in an assortment of “Gifts from the Garden” for sale, including dried mint leaves, home-preserved fruit and herbed salt scrubs.

The Spaghetti Dinner is served from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Meal tickets, which includes pasta, salad and garlic bread are $10 per plate. A scrumptious assortment of desserts and wine by the glass will also be available for purchase. Take out is available. Please consider buying a meal for a solider by calling the Mission Gift Shop 831-385-4478-extension 17 (after noon).

Concert tickets can be purchased at various King City locations, including Hearne’s Retail Store, Pacific Valley Bank in King City and Rio Farms Office or by calling (831) 385-4478.

All proceeds from the concert benefit the Campaign for the Preservation of Mission San Antonio de Padua.

The Campaign for the Preservation of Mission San Antonio de Padua Foundation was formed in 2010 to fund the retrofit repair and the preservation of the structural integrity of the historic and beloved mission. The Foundation’s intent is to raise funds to ensure that this landmark, an important piece of California’s history, is saved, so that visitors and the greater community can experience this historical treasure and its inspiring serenity for years to come.

The Foundation is a 501 (c) (3) non-profit corporation and independent from any religious organization. All contributions to the campaign for the preservation of Mission San Antonio de Padua are tax deductible to the fullest extent allowed by law.
