“It’s a wonderful opportunity to support an organization that is making a difference in the world, and whose reach and impact is truly global at a time when the world is growing smaller every day,” said Warburg. “MIIS is an amazing place that’s full of potential stories to tell.”
Warburg began his career in the Washington office of California Congressman Mel Levine and subsequently served for five years as a senior policy and communications advisor to California Lt. Governor Leo McCarthy in Sacramento, staffing the Lt. Governor’s work on the UC Board of Regents and the CSU Board of Trustees.
More recently, Mr. Warburg was vice president of public affairs at EdFund of California, a non-profit corporation and the nation’s second largest student loan guarantee services provider. At EdFund he counseled the president on communications strategy and managed one of the leading consumer-focused public information programs in the student financial aid arena.
Warburg earned a bachelor’s degree in political science from the University of California at Davis, and a master’s degree from the Georgetown University School of Foreign Service.
Now with the Monterey Institute of International Studies, Warburg will develop comprehensive communications strategies to support the Institute’s marketing, student recruitment, community relations, advocacy, fundraising, and research.
